Drone and Ropes Team Dual Training

The Drone Team worked with the Technical Ropes team to help set up a highline. Using a payload carrier on the drone, a light cord was carried across the canyon to the other side, to which a rescue rope was attached and pulled over, allowing the system to be rigged across the canyon. The team’s drone has many features which help the SAR community with searches, such as a Thermal camera, 180x zoom, a payload carrier, and a spot light. CCSOSAR also has 7 certified pilots.

Recovery Mission

Conditions were difficult with high winds, strong current and limited visibility. After several hours of coordinated efforts by the K9 team, Sheriff’s marine unit, and divers, the paddle boarder was recovered by divers.
