Training: Night Operation

You know, it's pretty easy to follow some trails and put up your shelter when the sun is out all nice and bright.  But what happens when the sun goes down?  As one of the many SAR sayings goes, "If you can't do it at night, you can't do it all." So CCSO-SAR does it at night.  This month's training had several objectives.  First, work a search grid in the dark.  Second, bunker down for the rest of the night with a shelter and a fire.  All three of these tasks are relatively easy during the day but at night

Training turned Mission: CCSO-SAR Saves Family Pooch!

Today CCSO-SAR engage in a regular rope rescue exercise.  Afterward, the team noticed a posting for a lost dog and sprang into action.  Dividing into teams of 3, CCSO-SAR search the Round Lake area of Lacamas' Heritage Trail.  Riley, the pooch, has found after he had fallen off a small cliff into the water where he was promptly rescued by several of the CCSO-SAR team.  Mission Completed!
